How does OneTree handle offsite server backups?
We automate your backup schedule, manage your cloud storage, verify backup integrity on an ongoing basis, enforce retention policies, and alert you the moment a backup job fails — before the absence of a good backup becomes a crisis. You get full visibility through monthly reporting.
Offsite server backup is included in the Everything plan. Plain plan customers can add backup management as a standalone service at our standard hourly rate.
If your data only lives in one place, it’s not backed up — it’s just waiting to be lost. OneTree automates your server backups to offsite cloud storage, verifies the integrity of every backup, and monitors for failures so you’re never relying on a job someone forgot to check last Tuesday.
Retention policies keep your backup history in order. Failure alerts mean we know before you do. And when it matters most, you have a clean, verified backup ready to restore from.

What happens to a workstation when disaster strikes?
A dead workstation with no recovery plan means an employee sitting idle, a project stalled, and a very uncomfortable conversation. OneTree handles image-based backups for your key workstations and builds a real disaster recovery plan — so when something fails, the answer isn’t “we’ll figure it out.”
We test the plan too. Recovery drills verify that your backups restore cleanly before you ever need them to. Because the worst time to discover a broken backup is when it’s the only one you have.// Infrastructure Support
What does hosted email management include?
Professional email on your own domain sends the right message — but only if it’s set up correctly. Email that bounces, lands in spam, or routes through the wrong relay undermines your credibility every time someone tries to reach you. OneTree gets it right and keeps it right.
We manage the full email environment: DNS, routing, spam filtering, mailbox lifecycle, and quota enforcement. Your team gets email that works. You get one less thing to think about.

What makes the BCDR appliance different from a regular backup?
A regular backup requires you to restore data to replacement hardware — which means ordering parts, waiting for delivery, reinstalling the OS, and then restoring. That process takes days. The BCDR appliance continuously replicates your server and virtualizes it locally the moment the primary fails. You’re back in minutes, not days — and your team may not even notice the switch.
The BCDR appliance is a core component of the Everything plan. Plain plan customers can have it installed and managed as a standalone add-on.
Lost your data? No you didn’t. OneTree’s onsite BCDR appliance runs a continuous replica of your servers — so the moment a server goes down, it spins up a local virtual version in minutes. No waiting on cloud transfers. No hunting for replacement hardware. No explaining to your clients why you’re dark.
We install the appliance, configure it for your environment, monitor its health continuously, and test failover on a schedule so you know it works before you need it to.

Why do businesses need email backup separate from their email provider?
Email providers like Microsoft and Google retain deleted email for a limited window — and that window closes fast. Email backup and archiving gives you a separate, searchable, long-term record of every message. It also covers compliance requirements, eDiscovery requests, and the case where someone deletes something they shouldn’t have.
Email backup and archiving is included in the Everything plan and available as a standalone add-on for Plain plan customers.
Email is business-critical. It’s contracts, decisions, client communications, and sometimes your only proof that something was agreed to. OneTree manages email backup and archiving so that record is always there — searchable, retrievable, and compliant with whatever your industry requires.
We configure archiving policies, handle mailbox backup scheduling, and restore individual messages or entire mailboxes on demand. When someone needs an email from 18 months ago, we find it.

What does OneTree manage in M365 and Google Workspace?
License management and provisioning, user account administration, app and integration configuration, policy and compliance settings, storage and quota management, and Conditional Access policy configuration for M365. In short: everything that keeps your cloud productivity platform running cleanly and securely — without you needing to learn the admin console.
M365 and Google Workspace management is included in the Everything plan. Plain plan customers can access this service at our standard hourly rate.
M365 and Google Workspace are powerful platforms — and genuinely complicated to manage well. License sprawl, misconfigured policies, unreviewed app integrations, and unused accounts left active are all security risks hiding inside tools your business relies on every day.
OneTree takes ownership of your cloud productivity environment. Someone joins: provisioned same day. Someone leaves: access revoked in minutes. License costs reviewed, policies enforced, integrations audited. One less admin console for you to worry about.

Why does managed power matter for network infrastructure?
A power surge, unexpected outage, or dead UPS battery can take your entire network — switches, firewalls, access points, and servers — offline in an instant. UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) monitoring gives us early warning before batteries fail, and surge protection management ensures your equipment doesn’t take a hit when the power does something unexpected.
Managed power for network infrastructure is included in the Everything plan and available as a standalone add-on for Plain plan customers.
Nobody thinks about power management until the lights flicker and the whole office goes down. A UPS with a dead battery is just expensive dead weight. OneTree monitors your network infrastructure power environment continuously — so we know when a battery is degrading, when a surge protection device needs replacing, and when a power event is putting your equipment at risk.
We track battery health, schedule replacements before failures happen, and alert you the moment there’s a power event worth knowing about. The least glamorous piece of infrastructure is often the one that brings everything else down.

What does managed networking actually cover?
Firewall rule configuration, wireless access point management, VLAN setup and segmentation, network performance optimization, and firmware and patch updates — the full stack of your network infrastructure, actively managed rather than set-and-forgotten. We monitor performance, review traffic patterns, and keep everything current so you’re not running three firmware versions behind on a business-critical device.
Managed networking is a core component of the Everything plan. Plain plan customers can access network management as a project or add-on service.
A network that nobody’s actively managing is a network waiting to fail — or be exploited. Stale firewall rules, unpatched access points, unsegmented traffic, and bandwidth problems don’t fix themselves. OneTree actively manages your entire network infrastructure so performance stays high and your perimeter stays clean.
We handle firewall rules, wireless access points, VLANs, and firmware updates — all on a schedule, all documented. When something looks off, we’re reviewing it before it becomes your Monday morning problem.
